Being in the Northwest Panhandle of Florida, we have a very long season for swimming pools. Technically as long as you have it heated, you can use it year-round. But no matter what, we have a solid 8 months per year with good swimming pool weather.
Swimming pools add value to your home and offer a ton of enjoyment. Even though we have the beach and the Gulf of Mexico, only minutes away there are times when you can't swim in the Gulf. In the wintertime, the water is too cold, and during the summer, you can run into either jellyfish or possibly double red flags. This is when having a private pool at your house is going to really make a difference. If you have a vacation rental property then having a swimming pool normally makes sense for all of the above reasons, but also it makes good financial sense. Homes with pools will generate much more annual rental income than those without them.
