The highest point in Blue Mountain Beach is 64 feet above sea level. It‘s a long way from actually being a mountain but it is said to be the highest point along the Gulf of Mexico in the United States. Many years ago sailors named the town Blue Mountain. They thought that there was no simpler name than Blue Mountain Beach and the rest is history.
